When a loved one has passed, how soon can they send us a sign? Is there a process they go through to adjust to the change in their energy level? How long should I wait before asking for a sign or see a medium to make a connection?

Great question. Based on my experience with channelling, souls are able to communicate with us right away. When we separate from our physical bodies, the soul falls into a "sleep or a lull" for a period of time. It is very similar to being in a deep meditation. The length of time of rest depends on how long that person suffered before they crossed, example: a long cancer illness. The sleep is a way of recharging our energy/soul. Keep in mind that there is no sense of time "on the other side" (time is physical, man made), a soul could be resting for quite some time, but for us, it is a fleeting moment. This is a difficult concept to take in. I have channelled many souls who have crossed over the day before. It is also common for people to have a visit from a loved one not long after they pass, it is a reassurance to us that they are still with us and close by. I recently lost a beloved aunt just before Christmas, and the very next morning she came to me to let me know that she was fine, happy and with her mother. So, a person can start asking for signs right away and can visit a medium as soon as it feels right for them.

I need to know that my mom is okay? I can't stop missing her, as she lived with me for the last 6 years. I cry all the time it seems and everywhere I look I feel her, but not her presence. How can I ask my mom to come and visit me, so that I can feel that she is all right?

I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Losing a mother can be one of the most difficult losses. You obviously loved her very, very much, that is why the pain is so great. If you are feeling her everywhere, that is her presence with you, try to find it comforting, because she is trying to console you from the other side. Mothers do not stop being our mom's, just because they have changed form. I believe that you are being flooded with thoughts and memories of her, especially ones from your childhood. I also feel that she has reconnected with a baby that passed many years ago. There was great happiness for her in this reunion. She is putting those thoughts to you so that you can still feel a connection to her. She has gone nowhere; she still walks with you always. If you can really find a way to believe this, you will not feel the loss so deeply...and is she all right, well, never worry about anyone on the other side, they are always happy, healthy and at peace.

My son in law has recently passed from an accident. Since the accident, my daughter has withdrawn from me. She has declined to go for any grief counselling. I would like to know how to best help her?

Your daughter is truly blessed to have a family that can love her and help her through this difficult time. It feels that she is not one for sharing her feelings and emotions at anytime. There are so many different ways that people grieve. Some visit cemeteries on a regular basis and others cannot bear to go. Some talk about the trauma constantly, while others can't seem to speak of it at all. There is no right or wrong way to process a loss. Having a session with a medium can be very helpful. To connect with that soul again, to hear that they are happy and safe, and that they are still near. I read for a woman a few days ago who was grieving the loss of her son. He came through loud and clear and proceeded to tell me/her, in great detail, everything that his mother had done that morning. She had been in the shower that morning and ran out of conditioner, she jumped out of the shower, swore, and ran to another bathroom to get a new bottle. Well, her son told me all this, she was laughing and crying at the same time. She had no doubt whatsoever that he was still here. Reassure your daughter that there is help for her and that she can come to you when she is ready. She will. I do see your son in law flying down the road having a great time, maybe on a motorcycle.
