Multicultural Blessing
Born to a Chilean social worker and an American lay missionary, Ivonne has had the rich experience of a multicultural upbringing. Exiled from Chile during a military coup, her family relocated to Mexico in the early seventies, where she grew up on the grounds of a unique ecumenical retreat centre that hosted hundreds of people each year. Her religious family background was steeped in her parent's dedication to social justice and human rights within the progressive Catholic Church, and Ivonne always felt the full freedom to explore many avenues of spiritual insight and loved the study of comparative religion. The family approach to health took full advantage of the many options available in Mexico, combining homeopathy, Chinese medicine, and herbalism. The "alternative" was the norm.
Blessed with the support of a network of intuitive practitioners over the years, Ivonne began a path of self-discovery in her early teens, often giving voice to her journey through songwriting. After completing a degree in Latin American Studies in Northern California, she returned to Mexico with her partner and married in 1994. The pregnancy and birth of her first child brought forth a profound healing opportunity through the spiritual connection between mother and child. The importance of living that bond consciously blossomed further with the birth of her second child. Their delivery by a homeopathic midwife fueled a growing interest in becoming an alternative health practitioner. Ivonne became fixated with the idea of studying naturopathy and began to lose touch with the gift of living in the moment...then God stepped in.
In 1998 a severe illness abruptly separated her from her family for the first time ever, placing her firmly in the role of receiver. Through a convalescence period of nearly a year, Ivonne discovered the many lessons of the experience as she learned about non-judgement, openness, patience, and deep, unconditional love. One of the greatest gifts was her shift into energetic and intuitive healing, a journey that continues to unfold to this day.
She and her family moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2002. Spirit has continued to guide her, presenting a myriad of connections and opportunities to further her own learning.
Ivonne and Her Healing Style
Becoming more and more aware of just what energy is and how it relates to our quest for a centered and meaningful life, Ivonne became disillusioned with the human limitations imposed on some healing traditions and modalities. Opting to learn from the lessons and teachers placed in her path over the years, she has integrated only what has served her. This has freed her to keep the work simple, using intuition as a guide with healing energy. Ivonne has formal training in Reiki, Massage Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, Somato Emotional Release, Qualitative Healing for the Whole Human Being, and Matrix Energetics, among others. Seeking always to uncover a deeper truth, and with her intuition firmly based in integrity, Ivonne has blended modalities, added what Spirit brings in the moment, and created a workable and effective healing flow for her clients.
Every one of Ivonne's sessions is different as she models them to match the clients' needs. She allows the energy to flow naturally and facilitates a powerful healing energetic experience. She has worked hard to learn how to be balanced and grounded in the moment, and strives to create a sacred space for people to connect with their own healing source on a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Looking into the truth of your experience takes courage; being willing to learn the lesson and move on requires presence and compassion. Ivonne encourages and teaches others to become more grounded and aware.
Ministerial Training
Since 2007, Ivonne has been training to become a Minister with the Universal Church of the Master, a non-denominational organization that recognizes the unique nature of the individual spiritual path beyond any one religion or doctrine and encourages the development of intuitive perception and guidance. Sensing the deeper spiritual layers of any healing work or modality, she incorporates spiritual counseling into her work, focusing her intent on service, integrity, and genuineness.
Ivonne gratefully views every session as an opportunity to grow for all involved. Inner work teaches that we serve as sacred mirrors for one another along the spiritual path.
