Currently in Red Deer, there are many people living on fixed incomes that are well below the poverty line for Canada. With continued automation in local industries and down sizing of large companies and corporations the strain on these social services is growing. Also, as the majority of the Canadian population ages, many are left lonely and with limited means of support. Loaves and Fishes is here to help meet these growing demands. Through the love and compassion of a growing volunteer base, many social needs are being met. This important ministry offers a variety of services to the community including the supper meal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, daily lunches for 172 children in 25 local schools.
