Page 12 - The Gift in a Grain of Sand - By Janet Desautels
Our past provides the form from which we create: when we are able to see our past and its hardships with new eyes, we can receive its gifts and see that it does not confine us. Our past does not determine our ability to move forward and be joyful in life. It can be used as a tool to bring about the vast potential within each of us. We are billions of intermingling human thoughts and feelings swirling around our beautiful planet every second of our lives. Hurt another person and hurt yourself. Love another and love yourself. Forgiveness sets us free. We are one. Despite what appears to be happening out there in our world, strive to send out loving ...

The dogs wake me up. I reach for my candle, carefully grabbing the metal base with both hands. This time, the tall pillar candle, heavy and lit, hits the side of the globe and topples the glass off the stand. Chards of glass and hot wax spray across the furniture, floor and bed. Now I am really awake! Luckily, the flame went out in the fall. I instruct the dogs to ....
